Scientists from Ukraine have made significant progress in understanding the history of our land by successfully reconstructing the facial features of an ancient human who inhabited the Ukrainian lands about 10,000 years ago. This step forward was made possible by the use of advanced technology combined with a detailed analysis of archaeological discoveries.

A group of scientists used a modern method to reconstruct the human face based on the shape of the skull and anatomical data. The study included an analysis of the living conditions of representatives of the Dnipro-Donetsk culture, revealing highly developed chewing muscles that may indicate regular consumption of food requiring intensive chewing. T4 writes about it.

The appearance of an ancient Ukrainian

The absence of DNA samples did not allow us to accurately determine physical characteristics, but based on the analysis of historical data, scientists have made assumptions about the appearance of ancient inhabitants of Ukraine. They could have light brown to dark skin, brown eyes, and dark hair, which was typical for hunters and gatherers of the Mesolithic and Neolithic eras. A characteristic feature of the Dnipro-Donetsk culture was also a large jaw.

Dnipro-Donetsk culture: features and significance

The culture that developed in the Dnipro and Donets river basin became one of the largest archaeological cultures of the Modern Stone Age on the territory of modern Ukraine. Its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture, cattle breeding, gathering, and fishing, which indicates a transitional stage in the development of society.

An important link, not direct ancestors

Despite the fact that the inhabitants of this culture were indigenous to the territory of Ukraine, they did not become the direct ancestors of the modern citizens of our country. However, their contribution to the formation of Indo-European language groups is undeniable, which later led to the emergence of many peoples on the continent.

The study of this culture opens new perspectives for understanding the history and evolution of the population on the territory of Ukraine. Reconstructing the face of an ancient inhabitant makes it possible to look back in time and imagine the daily life of people who lived on these lands long before us. This emphasizes the richness and complexity of Ukraine's history, as well as its significant contribution to the formation of world culture.

Earlier, UAportal wrote that graves of women who were buried with rings around their necks and buckets on their feet were found near Kyiv.
