How to make a fire for barbecue:

Choosing firewood:

  • Fruit trees (apple, pear, cherry) are best suited because they give the barbecue a pleasant flavor.
  • It is not recommended to use coniferous trees, because the resin contained in them can spoil the taste of meat.
  • You can use ready-made charcoal for barbecue, which is easy to find in stores or prepare yourself.

Lighting the grill:

  • Pour a small amount of charcoal into the grill.
  • Make a pile in the center and place a dry fuel tablet or sprinkle lighter fluid on it.
  • Light the fuel and wait for the coals to catch fire.
  • Add more coals, calculating the amount you need.

Types of barbecue:

There are different types of barbecue:

  • Classic: from lamb marinated in spices (salt, pepper, vinegar).
  • Pork: from neck, ribs, carbonade.
  • Chicken: from from fillets, drumsticks, wings.
  • Fish: from salmon, trout, mackerel.
  • Vegetable: from eggplant, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes.

Lighting the coals:

  • Experienced barbecue cooks recommend using a lighter fluid (approximately 100 ml per 1 kg of charcoal).
  • Soak the coals in the liquid and light the fire in several places.
  • The coals are ready when a gray coating appears.

Lighting raw firewood:

  • In wet weather, you can start a fire with vegetable oil and lighter fluid.
  • Lay out the firewood, pour oil over it, add lighter fluid, and light it.
  • The oil will ensure long-lasting burning, and the lighter fluid will ensure a stable flame.

Tip:

  • To make the kebab juicy, it is better to marinate the meat beforehand.
  • Don't turn the kebab often to prevent it from losing juice.
