Unknown human species discovered in Asia: scientists call it a breakthrough in understanding human evolution

Scientists have made a sensational discovery by identifying a new species of ancient people in East Asia. The fossils found in northern China tell the story of a unique group of ancient people whom researchers have named Juluren, which translates to "people with a big head."
The most striking feature of this species was the extremely large volume of the skull - about 1700 milliliters, which is significantly higher than that of other ancient human species. This discovery refutes the traditional notion of human brain evolution as a simple linear progression. Studyfinds writes.
Juluren existed about 200-160 thousand years ago in an ice age with temperatures 4°C lower than today. They combined primitive features - thick skull bones and a specific tooth structure - with more advanced characteristics similar to Neanderthals and modern humans.
Archaeological studies have shown that these ancient people were skilled hunters, especially successful in hunting horses. Their existence reveals a much more complex picture of human evolution, where different species of people not only coexisted but probably interbred.
Particularly interesting is the connection between Juluren and the mysterious Denisovans, an ancient population known mainly from genetic data. This suggests that there was a large population of people with large brains in East Asia at the end of the Quaternary period.
Each new discovery gradually adds to the complex mosaic of human evolution. The results of the study, published in the journal PaleoAnthropology, show that our family tree is much more extensive than previously thought.
Scientists compare this discovery to the pieces of a complex puzzle that gradually add up to a unique picture of the origin and development of humanity.
