How to get rid of moths in the kitchen: useful tips from housewives

Small butterflies that suddenly appear in the kitchen may not seem like a serious problem at first. However, you shouldn't ignore their presence, because they could be food moths that threaten to spoil all your food supplies and quickly spread throughout your apartment.
Another nuisance that you may encounter is ants in the house. Their persistent neighborhood can make life much worse. Glavred writes about this.
How to get rid of food moths:
Find the nest
Moths can hide anywhere, but most often they can be found under the ceiling, in places where wallpaper has peeled off, and in tile seams. The signs of its presence are cobwebs and larvae.
Repel
Since chemicals in the kitchen are not always appropriate, it is better to use traditional methods. Moths do not like strong odors, so spread mint, wormwood, bay leaf or other fragrant herbs in the kitchen drawers.
To remove:
- Garlic: Peel a clove of garlic, cut it into slices, place them on platters and place them in the cabinets. Garlic can even be added directly to flour and cereals.
- Camphor essential oil: The pungent smell of camphor or camphor alcohol, which can be found at the pharmacy, also repels moths. Soak cotton pads in camphor and place them in the cabinets. They will need to be changed periodically as the smell wears off.
Prevention:
Regularly inspect food supplies, especially cereals, dried fruits, and nuts. Store food in airtight containers. Clean the kitchen every day, leaving no crumbs or other food residues, and periodically ventilate the cabinets.
Remember that prevention is always better than cure. Regular cleaning, compliance with food storage rules, and the use of folk methods will help you protect your kitchen from uninvited guests.
