During an underwater excavation off the coast of Antalya, Turkey, scientists discovered a unique artifact - a bronze dagger with silver rivets. The find is approximately 3600 years old. This artifact is a clear indication of the links between the Minoan civilization and the Anatolian region in the Bronze Age.
The sunken ship on which the dagger was found was discovered at a depth of 50 meters. Scientists suggest that it was heading to Crete, which confirms the active trade and cultural ties between these regions in ancient times, arkeonews writes.

Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy called the discovery one of the most important discoveries in the history of underwater archaeology. He emphasized that this artifact will allow scientists to better understand the history of the Mediterranean and the interaction of different cultures in ancient times.
The excavation of the wreck will continue for the next five years. Scientists hope that the new findings will help reveal even more secrets of the ancient civilization.
As a reminder, hundreds of mysterious mummified bodies dating back 4000 years were found in boats in the desert in China.
