How to quickly refresh pillows and remove sweat odor: a simple life hack
It's hard to imagine a good night's sleep without a clean and fresh pillow. Often, owners are in no hurry to replace this item from the bedroom, thinking that it is enough to simply change the pillowcase.
However, the pillow is a place of accumulation of a large number of microorganisms, so its regular disinfection and refreshment are key to health. UAportal team together with Dobri Novyny have prepared a way to solve this problem for you.
How to refresh a pillow
Owners of natural feather pillows know that such products require special care. Over time, the pillow can lose its elasticity, become stiff, and acquire an unpleasant odor that can bother you even during sleep.
Pathogenic microorganisms and allergens, such as dust or mites, can also settle in the fibers. Experts recommend replacing the pillow every three years, as well as cleaning and disinfecting it.
However, there is a simple method of disinfecting it – expose the pillow to direct sunlight. You can also pre-wash it in the washing machine. The sunrays will not only quickly dry the filling, but also kill bacteria thanks to ultraviolet light.
This procedure is best done on a cloudless day. But a frosty day will be no less effective, because low temperatures also contribute to the destruction of microbes that may be in the pillow.
