On the Tasmanian coast, during one of the storms, a unique natural phenomenon was discovered - the remains of an ancient forest. The state's Parks and Wildlife Service has published pictures of this natural wonder, arousing great interest among scientists and the general public.

The discovered tree fragments, which resemble giant octopuses embedded in stone, are actually the bark of ancient trees. Scientists suggest that this forest existed in the Ice Age, meaning that its age can reach tens of thousands of years. This was reported by Unian.

Scientists are asking this question. On the one hand, the process of fossilization, when organic material is replaced by minerals, is quite likely in such conditions. On the other hand, some researchers believe that the wood has been preserved in a relatively natural state due to special burial conditions.

This discovery is of particular importance to the aborigines of Tasmania. They believe that these are most likely the remains of an ancient melaleuca (tea tree) forest that played an important role in their culture and daily life. These trees were called "elders" because they served as the basis for all living things in the forest.

The discovery of an ancient forest is a unique opportunity to look into the past of our planet. The study of these trees will help scientists better understand the climate changes that occurred on Earth thousands of years ago, as well as the characteristics of the ecosystem at that time. In addition, this discovery is of great importance for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Tasmanian Aborigines.

Scientists continue to study the found tree fragments. They are conducting various analyzes to determine the exact age of the trees, their preservation conditions, and other characteristics. The results of these studies will help to uncover the secrets of the ancient Tasmanian forest and better understand the history of our planet.
