The significance of the find

According to archaeologists, the findings are unique not only for Bulgaria but for the whole of Europe. They provide new information about the life and culture of the Thracians, an ancient people who inhabited the territory of modern Bulgaria and part of the Balkan Peninsula.

Who are the Thracian warriors?

Thracian warriors were known in the ancient world for their fighting skills. They used lightweight shields called pelts, which gave them mobility and flexibility on the battlefield. The Thracians were armed with a variety of weapons, including swords, spears, and knives. Their fighting skills were highly valued in the ancient world, and they often served as mercenaries in the armies of other states.

As a reminder, hundreds of mysterious mummified bodies dating back 4000 years were found in boats in the desert in China.
