Treasure of millennia: a unique discovery found underwater that could replace fossil fuels forever

Researchers have discovered a potentially unlimited source of clean energy that lies beneath the Earth's ocean depths. However, this discovery is accompanied by significant difficulties, mainly of a logistical and technological nature, associated with the extraction of energy from such extreme depths.
This was reported by the Greek Reporter. This source of energy is geothermal heat, which is generated by natural heating in faults in the earth's crust at great depths under the ocean. In rift valleys activated by seismic processes, a huge amount of energy is constantly released.
Geothermal energy, unlike solar or wind energy, which depend on weather conditions, provides a stable and reliable flow of energy. If humanity manages to effectively harness this source, it can become an alternative to fossil fuels and significantly reduce the negative impact on the environment.

However, humanity faces serious obstacles, such as finding the most efficient geothermal sources, creating technologies that can withstand extreme conditions at great depths, and transporting the energy produced to land. Overcoming these challenges requires close cooperation between scientists, engineers, and deep-sea experts, as well as significant financial resources.
Some of these sources are located in international waters, which creates difficulties in determining jurisdiction and equitable resource allocation. Despite these challenges, international agreements, such as the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, aim to strengthen cooperation, opening up opportunities for future research and development.
The discovery of this source underscores the need for improved technology and stronger international cooperation to fully harness deep-sea geothermal energy. Successful realization of this potential can be a crucial step towards sustainable development, meeting the energy needs of humanity and contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
