Tutankhamun, famous for his young age when he ascended to the throne of Ancient Egypt at the age of nine, remains one of history's most enigmatic figures. This young pharaoh, who was worshipped as a divine being more than 3000 years ago, was hidden among the treasures in his tomb, decorated with a golden mask carved with the highest skill.

According to the traditions of the time, the golden mask, which covered Tutankhamun's face in eternal rest, depicted his facial features. This was reported by Express.

This mask depicts the pharaoh with expressive cheekbones, curved eyebrows, full lips and a sharp jawline.

Using advanced 3D scanning technology, the researchers were able to create a "virtual autopsy" of Tutankhamun's mummy, recreating his true facial features. Through computed tomography, DNA analysis, and digital modeling, they have restored an accurate digital portrait of the pharaoh that reflects his true appearance.

It used to be believed that Tutankhamun was a handsome young man before he suffered facial injuries due to a chariot accident or an attempt on his life.

However, recent research has cast doubt on this hypothesis. They indicate that Tutankhamun had congenital facial deformities and significant problems with his bite.

Additionally, scientists have concluded that the fracture, which was previously thought to be the result of an accident during a chariot race, actually occurred after the pharaoh's death. The latest findings on Tutankhamun's physical condition also indicate that his health would not have allowed him to be active in sports.

Scientists believe that the young pharaoh had serious health problems throughout his life. They found signs of crooked, deformed leg bones and a limp, suggesting that he may have been able to get around with a cane.

The researchers speculate that incest could have been the cause of these physical defects. Genetic studies have confirmed that Tutankhamun's parents were probably siblings.

In ancient Egypt, marriages between close relatives were common. For example, Tutankhamun himself married his stepdaughter.
