New life for a tablecloth: how to wash different types of stains

UAportal has prepared tips on how to deal with different types of stains on a tablecloth. They will help restore the original appearance of the tablecloth.

Wine

Red wine stains on a tablecloth can be effectively removed by blotting the area with a clean cloth. Additionally, you can use a home cleaning product, namely a mixture of equal parts of white vinegar and cold water.

It should be gently applied with a sponge to the stain and left for 15 minutes. Then rinse with cold water. After that, the tablecloth should be washed as usual, as a result of which the red wine will be removed and the coating will restore its appearance.

Oil stains

If there is an oil stain on the tablecloth, a practical solution is to sprinkle the area with cornstarch or talcum powder and leave it for 30 minutes to absorb the liquid. Once the powder has absorbed the oil, use a soft brush to remove the powder.

Next, apply dishwashing detergent directly to the stain for 5-10 minutes before washing the tablecloth. After that, in the most safe water temperature for the fabric, wash to effectively remove the oil stain.

Coffee.

To remove coffee stains from a tablecloth, the first step is to immediately rinse the contaminated area with cold water. This will help to dissolve the remnants of the drink.

It is also recommended to soak the tablecloth in a mixture of cold water and detergent for at least 30 minutes before washing it as usual. If the stain persists, you can repeat the soaking process.

Food stains

Pre-treat the area with a mixture of dishwashing detergent and cold water and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wipe the tablecloth at the water temperature most suitable for the fabric.

Ink stains

Blot the spot with a clean cloth to absorb excess ink. Next, apply rubbing alcohol to the stain, sprinkle with salt, and leave for several hours before washing in water that is safe for the fabric. This will ensure that the ink stain is removed.
