Men's makeup: how to do it right to look natural
More and more young men are interested not only in skin and hair care, but also in makeup.

The trend towards self-care among men is growing steadily. More and more young men are interested not only in skin and hair care, but also in makeup.

Men's makeup is not about bright colors and fancy patterns. It's about emphasizing natural beauty, hiding imperfections, and creating a fresh and well-groomed look. OBOZ writes about it.

How to choose cosmetics?

Coverage:

  • For beginners, it is recommended to use products with a transparent or light coating. Such products are easier to blend, less noticeable on the skin, and mistakes in choosing a shade will not be conspicuous.
  • You can check the density of the coating by drawing a black line with a pencil on the skin and covering it with foundation or concealer. A dense product will completely disguise it, and a translucent product will only slightly cover it.

Finish:

  • Matte finish is suitable for oily to combination skin.
  • The shiny finish is suitable for dry and dehydrated skin.

Shade:

  • Subtone: "Warm" products have a yellowish undertone, "cool" products have a pink undertone, and "neutral" products are somewhere in between.
  • You can determine the undertone by the color of the veins: greenish – warm appearance, blue or purple – cold.
  • Choose the shade of the foundation by applying a drop to the back of your hand or in the crook of your elbow.

How to apply makeup?

Preparation:

  • Wash your face and shave (if you plan to apply makeup to the lower part of your face).
  • Apply a moisturizer.

Hide imperfections:

  • Concealer: Use it only on problem areas, blending thoroughly.
  • Green concealer: Neutralizes redness, applied to the reddest spots, blended and covered with foundation.
  • Foundation: Apply with fingers or a brush, spreading evenly over the face.

Setting:

  • Set makeup with powder using a puff or brush.

Emphasize facial features:

  • Eyebrows: Use a pencil with ultra-fine tips to create natural-looking strokes.
  • Contouring: Apply contouring above the eyebrows, in the hollows of the cheekbones, and under the jaw.
  • Blush: For a fresh look, apply to the center and upper parts of the face.
  • Mascara: Opens the eyes and fixes the hairs.
