How to make wooden furniture look like new: experts share an effective life hack
A simple life hack will help you update the look of your furniture

In the world of cleaning and home care, it's easy to get lost in the plethora of miracle products that promise brilliant results. However, sometimes all you need is a little ingenuity and the familiar things you have on hand.

Melissa Caverly, founder of Imagine Maids, reveals a simple but effective way to keep wooden furniture in perfect condition:

"Olive oil is not only a great ingredient for your dishes, but also a great furniture care product. It moisturizes the wood, restores its natural shine, and protects it from damage." Hlavred writes about it.

How to use olive oil for furniture restoration:

  1. Apply a small amount of olive oil to a soft cloth.
  2. Gently rub the furniture in a circular motion.
  3. The oil penetrates the wood, moisturizing it and making it shine.
  4. Optionally, add a few drops of essential oil to neutralize the smell of olive oil.

Remember:

  • For best results, use extra virgin olive oil.
  • Before applying the oil, test it on an inconspicuous area of furniture to make sure it doesn't stain.
  • Do not use too much oil, as it can make the furniture greasy.

In addition to olive oil, Melissa recommends other simple and effective methods for cleaning:

  • Lemon juice: Dilute fresh lemon juice with water and use it to clean and deodorize surfaces. Lemon juice has antibacterial properties and a pleasant aroma.
  • Newspaper: Use newspaper to wipe the windows after cleaning with a special product. Newspaper does not leave lint and gives a streak-free shine.
  • Baking soda: Sprinkle baking soda on the stain on the carpet, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, and then blot with a clean cloth. The baking soda will help remove dirt and stains.
  • Salt: Sprinkle salt on the area you want to clean and rub vigorously with a damp cloth or sponge. Salt is a great abrasive.
  • Toothpaste: Apply toothpaste to a damp cloth or toothbrush and use it to clean the grout. The toothpaste will help remove dirt and stains.
  • Coffee grounds: Place an open container of coffee grounds in areas where there is an unpleasant odor. Coffee grounds absorb odors and neutralize them.
