Tomb of a sorcerer discovered in Egypt (photo)

Archaeologists in Egypt have made an important discovery by discovering the remains of a sorcerer who treated pharaohs about 4000 years ago. This discovery was published by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The tomb was found on the territory of ancient Saqqara and has many carved elements and vivid drawings, among which are beautifully painted false doors and scenes with funeral offerings. The Independent writes about it.

Archaeologists, having studied the tomb, found that it belonged to the doctor Teti Neb Fu, who lived during the reign of Pharaoh Pepe II, around 2305-2118 BC. From the inscriptions found on the walls, it became known that he was very famous and had many titles, including "chief physician of the palace" and "priest and magician of the goddess Serket." Tet Neb Phu also served as the royal dentist and was in charge of herbal medicine.

In addition, the doctor probably specialized in treating the bites of poisonous animals such as scorpions and snakes, because the goddess Serket was the patroness of protection from poisonous bites. The doctor's burial, which shows attention to detail, indicates the high regard for medicine and magic in ancient Egypt.

This discovery adds new pages to the history of Egyptian medicine and culture.
