Scientists have discovered an anomaly in the Baltic Sea: what makes it unique

A mysterious object was discovered at the bottom of the Baltic Sea that resembled the Millennium Falcon spacecraft from Star Wars on sonar images. It was assumed that it could be an asteroid, volcanic rock, the remains of an underwater base, or even a UFO. However, research has shown a completely different picture.
The anomaly was first recorded by the Ocean X Team in 2011. The researchers received a strange sonar image of an object at a depth of 91 meters. When they returned for a detailed inspection, something unusual happened - all electrical appliances, including the satellite phone, failed. The connection was restored only after the team moved 200 meters away from the site. IFLScience writes about it.
"I am 100% sure that we have found something very unique," said Ocean X Team leader Dennis Osberg.
Rock samples taken on site were handed over to geologist Volker Bruchert from Stockholm University. The research showed that these are granite, gneiss and sandstone - typical for glacial deposits. However, a piece of frozen lava was also found among them, which raised additional questions.
"The northern part of the Baltic region has been heavily influenced by glacial processes, so both the object and the rocks are likely to have been produced by glacial movement," Bruchert explained in a commentary for Live Science in 2012.
Thus, the scientists concluded that the anomaly has nothing to do with spacecraft or artificial structures. They also emphasized that seafloor scanning technology can affect the visual perception of objects, creating false perceptions of their shape and structure.
