Can be harmful: why buckwheat porridge is not good for everyone

Buckwheat has long been one of the most popular products on the Ukrainian table. Its rich composition of vitamins and minerals makes it a real treasure for health. However, like any product, buckwheat has its contraindications. Radiotrack writes about it.
Who shouldn't eat buckwheat?
- People with allergies. This is perhaps the most well-known contraindication to eating buckwheat. An allergic reaction can manifest itself in itching, rash, swelling, nausea, and vomiting.
- People with low blood pressure. Buckwheat contains a lot of magnesium, which has a vasodilating effect. This can lead to an even greater decrease in blood pressure, which can be dangerous for people with hypotension.
- People with digestive problems. Buckwheat is rich in fiber, which can stimulate the intestines. However, in people with flatulence, diarrhea, or other digestive problems, buckwheat consumption can lead to increased symptoms.
- Pregnant women. Some studies suggest that buckwheat may contain phytic acid, which can negatively affect the absorption of iron and calcium.
