How to clean hands from silicone sealant without damaging the skin

It is recommended to wear gloves when working with sealant, but people often neglect this rule. This can lead to silicone getting on your hands, which, in addition to looking untidy, can cause redness, irritation, and allergic reactions. This was reported by Novyny.live.
Here are a few methods to help you quickly get rid of sealant from your hands:
Cellophane and soap:
Take a clean cellophane bag. Rub the contaminated area with it – most of the silicone will remain on the polyethylene. Wash off the remaining sealant with soap and warm water under the tap.
Water and pumice stone:
Dip your hands in a bowl of warm water – fresh silicone will soften quickly. Scrub dirty areas with the pumice stone.
Laundry detergent and oil:
Moisten your hands in warm oil. Rub your hands with a small amount of laundry detergent. The liquid will soften the skin by expanding its pores, where small particles of glue are trapped, and the powder will adsorb dirt. Wash your hands thoroughly under running water and soap.
Solvents:
Apply nail polish remover, table vinegar, or gasoline to a cotton swab. Remove the silicone. Wash your hands well with soap and water. Apply a hand care cream.
Important:
- Do not use acetone, turpentine, or other aggressive solvents to remove the sealant, as they can damage the skin.
- If the silicone has hardened, do not try to tear it off. Soak your hands in warm water for 10-15 minutes and then gently remove the softened sealant.
- If you have an allergic reaction to silicone, consult a doctor.
Remember:
- The best way to protect your hands from sealant is to wear gloves.
- If you do get your hands dirty with sealant, don't panic. Use one of the methods described above to remove it quickly and safely.
