Perfume can be the perfect complement to your look, even if you don't wear makeup or dress as simply as possible. Sometimes, however, they don't last as long as we'd like, and the scent can fade in a few hours.

Experts say that your favorite perfume can stay with you throughout the day if you apply it properly. The UAportal team together with OBOZ.UA offers some proven tips that will help you keep the scent as long as possible.

To fully explore the scent of your favorite perfume, it is worth spending some time. A perfume composition consists of three main levels: initial, middle, and base notes. At first, you will feel the lightness of the initial notes, which usually last about 15-20 minutes after application. Next, the middle notes are revealed, which form the "heart" of the perfume and can last from 2 to 8 hours. In the end, when the middle notes fade away, the base notes take over and can remain on the skin for several days.

To extend the life of each of these stages, it is recommended to apply perfume to damp skin, preferably immediately after taking a shower. The moisture absorbed by the skin helps to preserve the fragrance molecules. Thus, your favorite perfume will last longer if you apply it after your morning shower.

To keep the scent on your skin as long as possible, use an unscented moisturizing lotion or body milk. This will prevent the conflict of fragrances and allow the pure scent of the perfume to reveal itself without distortion.

It is also important to remember that fragrances spread better in a warm environment. Therefore, to achieve maximum intensity, apply perfume to areas of the skin where you feel a pulse, such as behind the ears, neck, wrists, and inner elbow bends.
