Lovely creatures: experts named 3 most beautiful cat breeds (photos)
Scientists, armed with the mathematical formula of the "golden ratio," have studied 46 popular cat breeds to determine the most beautiful among them.
The results of this interesting study were published on the All About Cats website. Scientists sought to determine which cats have the most pronounced beauty from the point of view of science. To do this, they turned to the "golden ratio" – the proportion that underlies the concept of beauty.
With the help of mathematicians, experts, and biologists, the researchers measured different parts of the cats' faces in the photos, focusing on the principles of the "golden ratio." They took into account such parameters as the length and width of the muzzle, nose, distance between the mouth and eyes, and other parameters.
"Cat owners will argue that their pet is the most beautiful, but the scientific principle of the golden ratio is more objective. This is an ancient algebraic symmetry algorithm that underlies human perception of attractiveness. The more a face or an object conforms to it, the more aesthetically pleasing it seems to our brain," said Doron Wolfberg, founder of All About Cats.
These cat breeds are among the three most attractive:
- Norwegian Forest;
- Russian Blue;
- Manx (Manx cat).
