Cobs.

We cook it as a family: me, my mom, and my nephews.

Since childhood, I remember how much we looked forward to summer, the most delicious time of year. My grandmother would tear up heads of cabbage in the garden, boil them, and we would eat them with salt and butter.

I also recently found out that it's delicious to eat heads of cabbage with lard! It's just a bomb. Just try it!

It is very easy to cook young corn:

  • I peel young, milky varieties of sweet corn, put a little bit of greenery from the cobs on the bottom of the pan as protection, pour water to cover the corn completely, add a little salt and I can also put some leaves on top for more flavor.
  • I bring it to a boil and cook for 10-20 minutes. That's it!
  • It's ready.

More mature corn needs to be cooked for about 45 minutes to an hour. I remember how my grandmother used to cook ripe corn for more than 2 hours.

Choose young, fresh, green ears of corn.

Taste the corn itself – sweet and flavorful, you'll know whether it's soft or hard right away!

Sometimes I let the ears stand in water for 5-10 minutes, but then I drain them immediately so that the corn is not watery!

You can eat it with sauces, bake it on the grill, or cut off the kernels and add it as a garnish to your dishes – it's delicious!

How do you like to eat ears of corn?

And have you tried it with bacon?

Hugs!
